About this event

Movies:
Chasing Kasper (12 min)
A bicycle, in its essence, is a way from one place to another. But sometimes it’s also a way through something. For Tessa Treadway and her nine-year-old son, Kasper, mountain biking has soothed the grief from losing husband and father, professional skier Dave Treadway, to a 2019 backcountry-skiing accident. For Kasper, it’s a hyper focused outlet for his errant energy. For Tessa it’s an escape from the chaos of single motherhood, as she discovers the surprise gift of joy that flows from chasing him.
Dirt Magic (20 min)
Patagonia Films presents “Dirt Magic,” a Teton Gravity Research and Freehub Magazine film documenting Downieville, CA’s journey from dying mining town to mountain-bike mecca. Inspired by a desire to save their home trails, shaped by a grassroot organization’s unintentional stewardship, and fueled by the sport’s rowdiest festival, Downieville’s newest dirt miners are using that reputation to create a model community for struggling mountain towns across the globe—and it all started with a van, a chainsaw, and a few maxed-out credit cards.
Life Cycles (45 min)
Life Cycles is a true adventure film. Over 5 years in the making, and using the bicycle as the vehicle, Life Cycles takes you on a journey through nature's most beautiful, dramatic, and sometimes unforgiving landscapes.
