The Duathlon +

Last year's event was such a resounding success we thought why not do another. And this year there is a little twist....

 

Coming to you from Small Town Race Series x Golden Cycling Club x The Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre....the Duathlon+ ! Sign up as a biker, as a runner, or sign up as EITHER! This will help ensure we have balanced numbers for teams. 

 

This year, we are supporting the BC Special Olympics with proceeds from the event! Local athletes will be out there racing and volunteering, so come and join in on the fun and feel free to volunteer if you're not keen on the race part. 

 

What's a Duathlon+ you ask??! It's a combined sport of running and biking. This will be a wee bit different than a regular Duathlon though.... You will be randomly assigned a partner. This will be a great opportunity to meet new people and share the trails in a radical new way. And this year, participants will be doing multiple laps! The team with the most total laps at the end wins. It's simple...

 

But there's a twist to top it all off!  In between run/bike legs you'll be target shooting thanks to Dawn Mountain Nordic centre.  This will affect scores using a highly sophisticated calculation that we are yet to determine.... But worry not, it's gonna be so much fun and there will be plenty of random prizing.

This event is limited to 50 teams so please sign up in advance!  Volunteers are the backbone of these events and can also register below.

 

This race is open to Members and Non-Members of the GCC.  Invite all your friends, runners and bikers alike!
